FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2016 AT METRO COMICS, PUERTO RICO

Well it has been a while since my last post so what better way to break this “new posts shortage” than writing about the Free Comic Book Day (or FCBD for short) event at my local comic book store Metro Comics. Let us start by defining for the new ones what is FCBD.

Free Comic Book Day is an annual event designed to get new comic book readers into the participating comic book stores. Since 2002, on the first Saturday of May (except in 2004 when it was held in July 3) comic book stores give their visitors “specially printed copies of free comic books, and some offer special deals and creator signings to those visiting their establishments” in order to motivate them to buy comic books on a regular basis.

One more time my favorite comic book store, Metro Comics located in San Patricio Comics Plaza, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico celebrated this event on May 7, 2016 with activities that included  autograph signing sessions with our local Puertorrican comic book artists , visits from local cosplay groups who mingled with the visitors and of course a free comic book for each person while supplies lasted.

I went there early morning so that I could both have a good place in the waiting line and take photos of this event from the beginning. A good old time was had by everybody and I got to take a good number of photos that I’m sharing with you here. Enjoy.
